My Canvas

Rolling round, repeated
Catching, curving, coiling
With my waves
I cover the Earth

Flowing freely, fast
Surging, soaring, swooping
With my waves
I alter the Earth
Surrounding shield, sustained
Caressing, cleansing, composing
With my waves
I love the Earth

Preface

We are writers from around the world who share in a creative process. These challenges started as a dare between two artists who founded The Artist Challenge.com. It has since grown to encompass our writer’s challenge, The Inferno.

The themes are chosen and defined by the members of Inferno. Written in any style of short story or poetry, the resulting interpretations are as varied in content and rich in imagination as our contributing authors are.

As writers we come together with the single goal of supporting the arts by sharing our ideas, knowledge and growth in our field of literature. Most importantly, we inspire and push each other to be our very best.

We come from the belief that ‘writers are artists and artists are writers’. We simply work in different mediums but our inspirations and ‘challenges’ are found in the same creative spot in our hearts.

Our Golden Sun

When there was a time

Darkness layered the world

Cold saturated every corner

Night creatures thrived

Mother Nature did wake

And from within her placed

So high into the sky

Our burning Golden Sun

Wrapped around the Earth

Arms of light spread
Her warmth inspired
New life to emerge

Feared and revered

By all those beneath

An essential element
