The Proposal (Writing Challenge)
The Proposal
When up on high,
Looking down and down,
My knees are weak , my head is spinning.
I’m shaking, I’m shivering.
Where are you?
I’m searching around and around.
The edge is near, the fall is long.
I’m nervous, I’m breathless.
But here you are!
Holding my hand with yours.
In your eyes, my eyes.
I’m elated, I’m smiling.
What is this?
Slipping a ring on my finger.
I see the world, I see our world.
I’m hopeful, I’m loved.
And I say, yes.
