Turtle Magnets

Turtles are symbolic in many different cultures and have roots far back into history. The Chinese view the tortoise as a supporter of the world, with it's four feet as the four corners of the earth. In Hindu tradition the world rests on the back of an elephant which then rests upon a tortoise. The Iroquois of North America believe that from a turtle they are descended, ridding itself of his shell and on the back of this Great Turtle the earth sits on.

One of my very favorite stories is The Tortoise and The Hare :)

(For sale in my Artfire shop, this set of two turtle magnets are made of durable polymer clay, painted, and sealed several times for surface protection)
